Distances are straight-line (great-circle) from the middle of Tokyo's airports. By road it's usually 20–40% further. Only airports with scheduled passenger flights are shown.

How it works

Straight lines, real airports

The airport list is OurAirports, a public-domain dataset: 8,801 airports with an IATA code, of which 4,034 have scheduled passenger service. By default only those are shown, so a search near Heathrow lists London City and Luton rather than the RAF station next door.

Every distance is a great-circle distance from the search point to the airport's reference point — as the crow flies, not as the road goes. Each result links to directions for the real journey.

The map is an azimuthal equidistant projection centred on your search, the one projection where every distance from the middle is true to scale — so the radius really is a circle.

Found a better airport? Check the flight distance from it, draw the trip with the route map generator, or compare the emissions with the flight carbon calculator.

Questions about finding airports near you

Type a city, an airport name or a code — LHR, EGLL, London — and the radius sizes itself to take in the nearest few airports — drag it anywhere from 25 to 500 km to change it. Or press "Use my location": your browser asks once, the position is used for that one search and nothing is stored. Every airport with scheduled flights inside the radius is listed, nearest first, and drawn on the map.

Every airport you fly from, remembered.

Orbit logs each flight — the airports, the distance, the hours, the countries — on a globe you can spin. Offline, free to start.
