Who you are contracting with

Orbit is provided by SC QWERTYBIT SRL, fiscal code RO38120209, registered at Constantin Voda 16, Bucharest, Romania("we", "us"). Contact: office@qwertybit.com.

By downloading or using the Orbit app, or by using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not, please don't use them. How we handle personal data is covered separately in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

What Orbit is

A flight logbook. You enter a departure airport, an arrival airport and a date; Orbit calculates the great circle distance, approximate flying time, countries and continents, and draws the route on an interactive globe. It ships with 8,801 airports so it works without a network connection.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of digital consent where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission.

Your account

You can use Orbit as a guest, with no account at all — your logbook then lives only on your device, and losing the device loses the logbook.

If you create an account, you are responsible for the email address you sign in with. Orbit uses one-time codes rather than passwords, which means anyone with access to your inbox can access your account. Secure your email accordingly, and tell us promptly if you believe someone else has got in.

Your content is yours

The flights, notes and photos you add remain yours. We claim no ownership of them and will not use them for anything other than operating the service for you. You grant us only the permission technically necessary to store, process and display that content back to you — and, where you have chosen to share a map or appear on a leaderboard, to the people you have shared it with.

Acceptable use

• Don't attempt to break, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service.
• Don't use the friends or invitation features to harass anyone, or to send unsolicited bulk invitations.
• Don't upload anything to your profile that you don't have the right to use, or that is unlawful.
• Don't use Orbit to break the law.

We may suspend or close accounts that do these things. Where it is proportionate to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right first.

Pro, and how payment works

Orbit is free for your first 15 flights, including the globe and the full offline airport database. Pro removes the flight limit and unlocks the remaining features.

• Pro Yearly is an auto-renewing subscription. It renews until you cancel, and you cancel it in Google Play — not here and not inside the app.
• Pro Lifetime is a single payment with no renewal.

Purchases are made through Google Play, not from us directly. Google is the merchant of record for the transaction: Google's terms govern the payment, and refunds are requested from Google under its refund policy, not from us. We never see your card details. Prices shown on this website are indicative; the price you pay is the one Google shows you at checkout, in your local currency.

Right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. For digital content supplied immediately, that right is lost once supply has begun with your express consent and your acknowledgement that you thereby lose it — which is what you give at the point of purchase in Google Play.

In practice this means refunds are handled under Google's policy. If you believe you are entitled to withdraw and Google has refused, contact us at office@qwertybit.com and we will look at it.

Accuracy, and what Orbit is not for

Orbit calculates great circle distances from published airport coordinates. These are accurate for the purpose of a logbook, but they are notthe exact track your aircraft flew, and Orbit is not suitable for navigation, flight planning, or verifying an airline's mileage award. Airport data is derived from public sources and may contain errors. Badges, levels and totals are for your own interest and carry no value of any kind.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Orbit running but do not promise uninterrupted availability. Features may change and features may be withdrawn. If we discontinue the service, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export everything first.

We may update these terms. Where a change materially affects you, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Orbit after that means you accept the new version. If you don't, you can close your account.

Ending it

You can stop using Orbit whenever you like, and delete your account and everything attached to it from Settings, or from our deletion page. Deleting your account does not by itself cancel a Play subscription — cancel that in Google Play, or it will keep renewing.

Liability

Orbit is provided as-is. To the fullest extent Romanian law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of data arising from your use of it. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited — and nothing here affects your mandatory rights as a consumer.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Romanian law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts. Otherwise, the courts of Bucharest, Romania have jurisdiction.

Consumers in Romania may also contact the ANPC (Autoritatea Națională pentru Protecția Consumatorilor) — anpc.ro — for out-of-court dispute resolution. We would much rather you emailed us first and gave us the chance to fix it.
