Delete your account

The quickest way

If you still have Orbit installed, you can do this yourself in under a minute and it takes effect immediately:

  • Open Orbit and go to the You tab
  • Open Settings
  • Choose Delete account and confirm

We email you a copy of your logbook first, as a courtesy, then delete the account. There is no waiting period and no way for us to undo it.

If you no longer have the app

Email office@qwertybit.com from the address you signed up with, and ask us to delete your account. Sending it from that address is how we know it is you; if you cannot, we will ask you something else that only the account holder would know, because deleting the wrong person's logbook is worse than a short delay.

We action requests as quickly as we can and always within 30 days, as the GDPR requires. It is free.

What gets deleted

Everything tied to your account, permanently:

  • Your flights, legs and trips, and every total derived from them
  • Your profile — display name, avatar image, home city and country
  • Your badges, XP and level
  • Your friend connections, and any invitations you sent that are still outstanding
  • Your account and sign-in credentials
  • Any files you uploaded, removed from storage

What survives, and why

We would rather tell you this than have you find out:

  • App activity records — the short trail of in-app actions described in the privacy policy. Deletion severs the link to you immediately, leaving a count that cannot be traced back to any person. Those unattributed records are deleted after 24 months.
  • Purchase and invoice records — retained for as long as Romanian tax and accounting law requires. We cannot delete these on request; the obligation is not ours to waive.

Your subscription is separate

Deleting your Orbit account does not cancel a Google Play subscription — Google holds that, not us. Cancel it in the Play Store, or it will keep renewing after your account is gone.

Other things you can ask for

You do not have to delete everything to get something changed. You can also ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or for us to stop a particular use of it. The privacy policy lists your rights in full.
