myFlightradar24

# myFlightradar24, but on your phone and offline

The logbook half of Flightradar24 — formerly Flightdiary — where you enter the flights you have taken and get statistics and a map back. Free, and attached to an account most aviation enthusiasts already have.

## Read this before you switch

**Orbit cannot import your flights.** Not from myFlightradar24, not from anywhere — there is no importer yet. Moving a logbook across means typing it in.

myFlightradar24 exports CSV, so getting your history out is genuinely easy. Getting it into Orbit is the manual part — there is no importer, so the export is a list to work down rather than a file to upload.

It is less work than it sounds: three fields per flight — where from, where to, and when. Orbit derives the distance, the hours, the countries, the continents and every milestone from those. The [method for rebuilding a history](https://orbitflights.app/blog/reconstruct-your-flight-history) is written up in full.

The free tier holds 15 flights, so you can find out whether you like it before deciding whether to carry the rest across.

## Orbit and myFlightradar24, row by row

Including the rows Orbit loses. A table where one side wins everything is an advert, and you would be right not to believe it.

## Orbit, on the screen

The parts of the table above that are easier to see than to read.

A 3D globe rather than a flat map, with every route drawn as a great circle.

Levels and badges, earned from where you have actually been.

## What myFlightradar24 does better

- It is free, with no cap on how many flights you log.
- It exports to CSV cleanly, which is more than most in this category manage.
- It knows aircraft registrations and types, which Orbit does not record at all.

## What Orbit does better

- It is a website; Orbit is an app that works on a plane with no signal.
- A real 3D globe rather than a flat map.
- Badges and milestones, if that is the part you enjoy.

## Asked and answered

### How do I export my flights from myFlightradar24?

The flight diary offers a CSV export from your account, which is the cleanest export in this category. Keep the file: it is a complete record of everything you logged, and it is yours regardless of what any one service does later.

### Can Orbit import a myFlightradar24 CSV?

No. Orbit has no importer yet, so the CSV is a reference to type from. Only three fields per flight actually need entering — origin, destination and date — because Orbit computes distance, duration, countries and continents itself.

### Why use Orbit if myFlightradar24 is free and unlimited?

Mostly if you want it on your phone rather than in a browser, offline, with a 3D globe. If a free web page suits you, myFlightradar24 is a perfectly good answer and this page is not trying to talk you out of it.

## What Orbit works out for you

You enter an airport pair and a date. Everything below is computed from the airports’ own coordinates — which is why entering a flight takes a few seconds rather than a form.

- [São Paulo – Singapore, 15,995 km →](https://orbitflights.app/routes/gru-to-sin)
- [Singapore – New York, 15,341 km →](https://orbitflights.app/routes/sin-to-jfk)
- [Singapore – Newark, 15,337 km →](https://orbitflights.app/routes/sin-to-ewr)

## Start with the flights you remember.

The long ones first — they carry most of the distance and most of the milestones. Free for your first 15, no account needed, no ads on any tier.
